PART ONE:
what AI actually is.
An AI assistant is a text machine trained on an enormous amount of written language. It does not know you, it does not look anything up unless you ask it to, and it does not remember yesterday. It predicts what a good answer would look like, based on what you gave it.
That single fact explains almost everything about working with it well. If it cannot know your situation, you have to tell it. If it predicts rather than verifies, you have to check. Once those two habits are in place, the rest is practice.
Three things follow. It is not a search engine: it composes, and composition can be wrong in fluent sentences. It is not a colleague: it remembers nothing you have not put in front of it. And it is not an authority: it has read almost everything and verified almost nothing.
None of this makes it weak. It makes it a particular kind of instrument — one that works exactly as well as the instruction it is given. Compare: "Can you help me with my report?" against "Write a one-page summary of these notes for my team lead, plain language, decisions first." The first gets you something. The second gets you something you can use. That difference is a skill, and it is what this hour trains.
